Since 2020 I've been using Adobe Creative Cloud for all of my graphical design endeavours. At the time, I was a student at Lund University in Sweden and used mostly Photoshop and InDesign for creating graphical designs for student events and promotional items, such as posters.
The Adobe software was provided to me by the student organisation, so I had the opportunity to use and learn those programs - what really are - the most powerful graphical design tools that exist. A little too powerful.
I'm learning to become a Personal Estate Agent and will be based in Islington, London. That's not learning to become a professional graphical designer. I should, of course, have my ideas of what looks nice, and be able to use a graphic design tool to promote myself, my (coming) estate agent services, properties, as well as everything part of my content-show Littorin Means London. However, at the end of the day for an estate agent, graphic design is work that should be carried out by a professional in the field.
Employing is easier said than done. In addition, there is the possibility of paying a virtual designer and trying different AI tools. However, a lot of graphical design work is easier done in five minutes than taking those five minutes to instruct a professional to create that image for you.
Adobe Creative Cloud and its applications are awesome. Photoshop is fantastic, InDesign is brochure heaven, and Premiere Pro is video-editing paradise... if you have the skill. I used these tools, with an annual subscription, as I wanted the best of the best. Last autumn, I realised these tools took more time than they gave, and the actual tools I used within, say Photoshop, were limited. I'm not a professional, and thus I didn't engage in professional tools that Photoshop is the best platform for.
Realising I didn't need the best platform for my quick edits, I decided to give Canva a real 'go' and found it to be time efficient and its Pro version being both way cheaper while including the tools I need to succeed in creating images for my website, fancy photos for my socials, brochures for properties, flyers for events, and videos for Littorin Means London.
After nearly 4 years of Adobe Creative Cloud, this is the reason why I have now awarded Canva Pro an annual subscription until January 2025.
