CONSUMER Protection

Last updated February 10, 2025.

The protection of consumers is covered by the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (CPRs). The CPRs refer to consumers. A “consumer” is any person JL Jacob Littorin comes into contact with during the operations. This includes landlords, sellers, and prospective buyers and tenants, as well as applicants - people who want to view property or just people making general enquiries about property. The CPRs require JL Jacob Littorin to tell the truth about the services provided and the prices charged. All relevant information must be disclosed to consumers to enable them to make informed decisions when dealing with JL Jacob Littorin.

Consumers are affected by marketing. The Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations 2008 (BPRs) requires JL Jacob Littorin to prove claims of comparative advertising. Claims to be the number one estate agent in a certain area, or to have sold or let a certain amount of properties in a stated period must be effectively proved, or else the BPRs will be breached.

As a consumer, you are protected. Read the JL Jacob Littorin Consumer Protection Strategy for more information. You can view it in PDF format by clicking the link below. Please contact Jacob Littorin if you have any concerns, at jacob@jacoblittorin.com.
